How and why I started On the Safer Side.

My dad has been a patient of chronic anxiety from the past two and a half decades while one of my cousins is autistic. Many people in my friends and family have dealt with serious psychological ailments, a few of them have even lost their loved ones to suicide and depression, as a direct result of maladjustment. Over time I kept witnessing the far-reaching impacts of Mental Health-related issues in our communities.  All of this prompted me to think of a way to live life. Growing up I read a lot of western and eastern Philosophy among other things which heavily influenced and helped shape my thinking. And I started with 'How good would it be if we had a universal benchmark of what a mentally healthy person should be like?' One thing lead to another until I finally started my journey into Psychology. I was a typical teenager with angst and anxiety growing up and have been in and out of counselling sessions throughout my intermediate. And all of that pushed me to take up Psycholog...

Blog: Blogging and Bloggers

A Three-part Article on:  Blog: Blogging and Bloggers  An Article on Articles  And Other Things...  Part 1. Blog: Blogging and Bloggers  Blog. ( noun )  A regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.  Where, how and by who can a blog be used?  An hourly blog could be about an ongoing scientific/social experiment in which viewers would like to constantly be updated about the present situation. Another example could be a minute to minute break up of a live sports event.  A daily blog would be the most common type of blog seen on the internet, which could be used to inform viewers or subscribers about something specific on a daily basis. For example, Some blogs could be as simple as; ‘My daughter learnt a new word today’, ‘What did my pet do today’ etc or others could be more generic like ‘word of the day’ for a dictionary/vocabulary enhancing b...

2. Almost her...

"Who was she?" "Everything nice amidst all of my chaos. Let's leave it at that now." He replied. "No please tell me!" She begged. "Well.. she was everything right to my everything wrong... What?" "Lame ass that literally sounds like a ripoff from a highway bookstores' quote card." She smirked. 'Sigh.' he took a drag from his half done cigarette and continued "She.. she was my mane. She was the light in my dark. She was the truth in disguise. She was the fire in the circus. The love of my life. She was the fleeting spark off of a Flint. She was the polarity to my extremes. She was what no one else could ever be. She was what I needed but didn't deserve. She was what I had when I lost it all. She was there when no one was. She was the spirit of my life. She was the twist to my plots-" She interrupted "hey! but, wait, why is it that you seem to be narrating a past experience?" She wondered "Whe...

1. Why him?

"Why? Why does it have to be him? Why does it always have to be him? You always bleed. Weep. Break. Fall and die only for him!?" He asked her his last few words almost incoherent. "Nahi Pappa..." Her voice trailed off. She couldn't control her tears that fell in spite of no clear reason why. She ran up to her bedroom slammed the door shut. But this time it wasn't only the frame that creaked. Or only the adjacent glass vase to the door that broke. She fell. Shattered. Scattered in all the right places for all the wrong reasons. For someone who literally did nothing to deserve it. And as she pulled up her sleeve and slit her wrist, at least the tally was complete. As she wondered herself as well; 'why him?'. ~A n excerpt from a book I'll probably never write by Mudassir Mohsin Jowher mudassirjowher@gmail.com facebook.com/mr.jowher instagram.com/mudassirmohsin

A knot.

Your words speak on my neck. On me, an insignificant speck. You touch lives you don't know- You save lives you won't know- You love people you can't know- You fix minds and you shan't know. Words touch where hands won't reach. Deep inside where I live; I get breached. Your words span time. ~A knot by Mudassir Mohsin Jowher Original Post Inspired via: @fakiha_faiz  's writing: instagram.com/fakiha_faiz #anmol_nayyar  's musings i nstagram.com/anmol_nayyar mudassirjowher@gmail.com facebook.com/mr.jowher instagram.com/mudassirmohsin

Wish.

You wish me luck. You wish me best. You wish me morning. You wish me every night. You love me. You ask me to stay. You treasure me. You need me by your side. You heart seeks what you choose to find in me. You get what you like. You like what you get. When all turns better, you still need me the same. When the world is bright. You crave me all the same. When the dusk hits hard. You go back home to me. When stars all fade. You sit in my embrace. You wait for the sunrise, curled in my lap. We sit side by side telling our tales. You find me there when you need me by your side. And the world turns sour when I have to wake up. You aren't here. You aren't mine. That's when I realize you aren't real. Just another wish, another dream., another life, Another reality. Another fantasy. Some other time. ~Wish. by Mudassir Mohsin Jowher mudassirjowher@gmail.com facebook.com/mr.jowher instagram.com/mudassirmohsin

Few and Faithful.

Few and faithful,  to as many as possible.  Just a pebble's footprint,  on the windy shores,  of sands of time..  I just want to,  hold my hands in joy as I,  love as many people as I  can. For baby life's precious and time is less; And things in this world aren't meant to last.  I flesh out lines, and draw out my words. For people who'd just care to listen. I bring out fires, and reign in my words. For people who'd just care to enliven. Deep down a calm,  breeze as I try to Stay focused. And explode in glee while we're still here. For time here's fixed. And our minds are jinxed. I just hope I can leave here. Leave here in peace. Leaving here at ease. Knowing that I did my best. And did no bad to, my nest. So that when the time does come for me. And I can't be a pebble, I'll bear my boulder. For on the other side I'll have my friends and aides. Standing with me as we make it big. Standing with me while we mak...

I hope.

I hope one day as you look in the mirror. You like what you see. The reflection in the glass, as you gaze at the rainbow, smiles at you.  You pick up your books and flaunt them around. You pin your favorite poems on the fridge. You wake up at night, only to have more ice cream. And you only feel numb by a brain freeze. You only feel cold in the snow.  I hope you let your soul graze as you grow. I wish you live a life of peace. Tell tales of inspiration.  You became what you need. All your wants in your reach. I hope you are at peace with what you achieve. Also, like what you dream at night.  I sincerely hope that every time you look at your scars, you feel proud. The undying courage frothing through your visage. That contagious aura of wisdom always guiding.  One day, you snuggle in your spot with a book and coffee, clad in a comfy blanket.  All your thoughts organized. I wish you see the beauty in yourself, you now deny. I hope one day you are able to for...
