The story thereafter; 2016 to 2019
In 2016 I took readmission into AV College of Arts, Sciences and Commerce. The previous attempt in 2015 ended up being ruined and I had to redo all exams of first and second year intermediate in one sitting in 2016. I have a lot of people I owe thanks to, Ajmal is along the first names on that list.
Being able to select Psychology as one of my three majors and convincing my parents for the same in and of itself was a milestone to say nothing of the tonnes of other things I was able to achieve and accomplish.
From as early as I can remember, although I was never the class or school topper I always won some positions in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. GK competitions, fancy dress, talent shows, whatnot. But it was only during my bachelor's that my personal life outside the class bloomed. For one I had an Activa, made a huge social circle, bunking college was a fad and being a rebel was the norm. Towards the end, I was in fact such a huge success that I ended up becoming the head of the Psychology student's body in the final year.
It did however take a lot out of me to get there. Something I remember for example, on the first day of college I asked someone where the entrance was and they automatically assumed I was a PG student and sent me to the PG section. After reaching there and getting lost I asked another person categorically where the graduation section was and this person assumed I was a new faculty member and took me to the staff room. Hehe.
I had such a great time at AV College. From organizing camps and committees to fests and blood donation drives, and suicide awareness seminars to hosting the college's diamond jubilee celebrations which were attended by the vice President of India! Psychology stairs, Bombay bakery, the cranky old guy at the Xerox shop who liked me for some reason, the over-friendly coconut juice uncle, the lid cap stationery shop the forever under maintenance cafeteria. I've memories of almost all places and corners of AV College. A lot of things not just mine to share. Hence always private. Maybe I'll collate them at a later point in my life but for now, they shall remain a part of the books I'll probably never write or stories I'll probably never tell.
Incidentally, something that I am proud of and can also share happen to be the fact that I participated in a few state and national level surveys as part of the research teams; Founded the AV College Humanitarian Club; Interned in 3 major hospitals in Hyderabad, Asha Hospital - Banjara hills, Yashoda hospital - Secunderabad and Deccan Heart Institute - Somajiguda; while assisting a clinical psychologist in her practice for 8 months. I've also been part of her clinic in IIRC a fertility centre. Got my first-ever certificate for attending a Psychology training workshop on parenting called Parvarish 2.0 from Retrospective Counseling Centre.
After these, I've gone ahead and moved into doing and accomplishing a whole lot more but somehow these budding feathers of youth are always adorned the best.
